How can I focus more in a lucid dream so I can do what I really want to?

I don't know how to word the title, so I apologize for that.
Anyways, when I have a lucid dream, I sometimes forget my dream goals so I just start flying around and doing dumb things and waste a lucid dream.
so how can I focus more when I have an LD so it lasts longer and I can accomplish my goals and do things I actually want to do

This is a common problem. When you go from thinking "i'm dreaming, its stable its vivid etc." you keep concentrating on the doing and forget about the dreaming. So then like you said you do dumb stuff.Just remember to think about te fact that you're dreaming every now and then. Otherwise you get focused and when whatever you're doing ends you reenter a normal dream.
when i have a lucid dream the first thing I will do isorder a pizza.

      PIZZA
      pizza is sacred.

I'm having the same problem, but here's what I'm trying: think about your goal before you fall asleep. It's that simple. Also, it may just take some time and random thought before you remember, so while doing what I said, just wait and see if you suddenly remember your goals in a LD.

It just takes practice. Also, it helps to be self-critical. I always bitch at myself--form of self-motivation.

Same thing usually happens to me as well. I'll just start flying around and stuff. I've been trying to remember to not move after the LD ends so I can chain them together but I haven't remembered yet. XD

What works best for me is to just ask my self what it is that i want to do. I'm still working on making it routine for when i become lucid. First i become lucid, make sure the dream is as stable and vivid as i can make it, and then ask myself,"What is/are my ld goal(s)?" It helps to make sure that the ld goal you have in mind is in your long-term memory rather than the short-term, because it seems short-term memory is lacking while in an ld. Anyway, i believe if you can make this part of your when you get lucid routine, you should have a much better chance of remembering what it is that you want to do.
LD Goals: [] Have a successful VILD [] Take crazy, hallucinogenic, euphoric drug [] Fly through multi-colored ice cavern while "Surfing with the Alien" by Joe Satriani plays [] Fight a hollow, while using Zangetsu

Happens to everyone. Something about the lucid state, it becomes very hard to stop and consider the situation as you might under waking conciousness. It helps (has always worked well for me) to pick one or two of your goals, preferably one, and make that your goal for your next lucid dream. Really drill it into your head that the next time you're lucid, that's what you want to do. Then when you're lucid, and your mind goes "quick, quick, I'm lucid, what to do?" you will probably remember that (and perhaps eventually the idea of slowing down and considering your situation instead of jumping straight to action). It just takes practice to get out of that habbit, but this should help.
