      Lucid Dreaming I-search

      Hey everyone,
I'm a senior in high school and all seniors at my school have to do this paper called the I-search in order to graduate. Basically, we have to come up with a topic in the form of a question and go through the process of answering that question. It is supposed to be something that is important to your life and/or future and that you really WANT to answer. We can choose to do anything we want as long as we can put it into a good question that can be answered by researching with many sources, DOING something, among other things.

2 and a half years ago, i was introduced to the movie Waking Life by an older friend of mine. It has been my favorite movie ever since then, and it sparked my fascination with lucid dreaming and non-ordinary states of consciousness in general. Over the past couple years my intense interest in lucid dreaming has been like a roller coaster. I go through periods of time where i am trying by doing many different things to discipline myself and keep a dream journal and work towards LDing, but other times when i lose the drive or get frustrated or something and dont really do much at all. More recently, ive been deeply in the latter of those two.

My original, general, idea for my I-search was to do something related to Non-ordinary states of consciouness, psychonautics, etc. Because it is a school project, i couldn't do anything psychadelic related. My plan for a while to was to do it based around Holotropic Breathing, Stanislav Grof's method of naturally bringing yourself into a 'psychadelic' altered state of consciousness through breathing methods. More recently though, i have been more interested in basing my I-Search around Lucid Dreaming. I was thinking my question would be something along these lines: By paying strong attention to dreams and discipling myself, can i learn to use lucid dream (as well as normal dreams, for that matter) for the purpose of self-exploration, self-healing, etc?

I was hoping i could get some thoughts from you guys on this whole idea. Anyone who has any thoughts/ideas, shoot:

Do you think i need to change/refine the question? or What would be a better question to ask in terms of Lucid Dreaming?

Are there any aspects of lucid dreaming or techniques that you think i should especially focus on?

Don't limit feedback to those questions, anything you have to say is welcome

ALSO: One of the requirements of the project is that we interview some person relating to our search. Does anyone have any ideas of who i could talk to? Im sure there are even many people on this forum who could be considered LD experts and who could be great, so if you think you would be good for an interview on this (or know of anyone else) and are willing to give me a bit of time, let me know

      Thanks!
