Generally spinning is a good plan of action when a dream is fading. Even if you are in complete blackness, it is likely that you will still be able to twirl your body around. This process was tested and documented most notably by Stephen Laberge and is included in his book, Exploring the World of Lucid Dreaming. The idea behind it is the same as the one behind rubbing your hands together, another effective technique. If you feel your body spinning, you wont experience the sensation of being stationary in your bed at the same time, and therefore will not wake up. |
