Emotions?

I find that i can't get lucid becasue i get caught up in all the emotion of the situation in my dreams. Does anyone else have this experience? How have you over come it? Thanks.

By "caught up in the emotion" do you mean that you fully believe your in a real situation? Or you feel the emotion so strongly that you can't focus on anything else? If it's the first, regular techniques work. If it's the second, you might be able to use your intensely emotional experiences as a sign (ie. you never feel emotions that strongly in reality, therefore you must be dreaming) like when people have nightmares.
