      Force wake up from dream

I've read that if you keep blinking in your dream you should wake yourself up.
I thought about trying this, so if I do become lucid I would be more likely to remember the dream, as I'd be directly awakening from the dream.
I'm guessing it could also be a way of DEILD.
Do you think this would work and is there any other ways of waking yourself up from a lucid?
      Thanks.

I've been thinking about this too. If you kill yourself- or die in a dream, do you wake up? I think I might have killed myself before, but I know I wasnt lucid.

Years ago, I wanted to know how fast I could wake myself up from a lucid dream. So, in the dream I braced myself in a doorway and willed myself awake. I woke up so fast I gave myself a splitting headache. I never tried that again.

I have never been able to "kill myself" in a lucid dream as there is always that "is this real" moment.
So to wake up, if i ever WANT to, i just do a drastic change and become too alert causing myself to wake up, like say "ok i am dreaming and i want this building to appear out of thin air" that normally will cause me to wake up or something huge like "im gunna fly with no means of doing it" (normally to fly i give myself a "thing" to allow it to happen)

I actually did this when I was like 7. I wanted to wake up because I was having I nightmare, so I just kept blinking, and next thing I knew I was lying in bed.

When I was a kid and had nightmares, my father was used to say 'Just tell yourself to wake up!' - One day it actually worked, and I have just realised that I must have been lucid to think about saying that.
