How to regain passion for writing in your Dream Journal?

I seem to write down my dreams for about two weeks and after that time it slowly declines into just using bullet points for my dreams on a piece of paper. It seems that when I get past a few weeks of my journal I cant be bothered to write in it again and I lose my passion if I’m not having Lucid Dreams. I get complacent and just end up writing down crap that I don’t transfer into my journal.

I always think if i have mundane dreams they are not as imporant as level 2 dreams.

      Any ideas?

Well, with me, I didn't even have a journal until I had that one dream that I remembered almost crystal clearly -- the one with seeing the good ol' MJ perform -- and suddenly, I was inspired.

I guess what I'm trying to say is, it just takes time, but you'll get that spark again. It'll come, you just have to want it...

      Have patience, and hope.

you could personalize your dream journal...make it really cool looking on the outside, put pictures of stuff you love on it, whatever, anything so that it's not just a plain old notebook. that may help a little.
then again that's just a recommendation from an "artist", i really enjoy making things look pretty and neat, and also drawing things from my dreams, so i know it would help me personally.

or, maybe you could keep an online journal. there are plenty of journal sites, you can find on of those and use it as a dream journal, or even just type them up in notepad or something and print it out. that's really all i can think of to do...i hope i helped?

I don't have anything to really add to the topic, but I'd like to point out I find it hilarious that the subject of this message is not even a question yet ends with the proper punctuation for one...

I don't write down every single dream that I have in my journal. I usually write down my lucid dreams and dreams that are so intense that I can't stop thinking about them. I really don't bother to write down any of my "fuzzy" dreams. It kind of seems like a waste, racking my brain for ten minutes, trying to remember something so unclear.

If you used a tape recorder, you could almost record them as you remember them... i'm sure you'd get more down that way.

Recording them digitally might be easier and cheaper to store, and easier to archive. One file for each night is more organised than one tape for each three days. (or more, not sure how much fits on a tape)

Perhaps you could find some good software that can read sound files and output text. That would save you a lot of typing. You might still need to proof read / rewrite, depending on how close you speak is to how people like to read. (Or, you could just keep them for your own purposes) Its still better than a few halfasses dot points...

If you're worried about the noise, you could go to the other side of the house and talk a bit quieter.

      I might do this myself!

I personally think just writing in bullets is good enough, to have key phrases.

I did this because writing it all right after waking up was just so harsh on myself. After writing few key phrases or sentences, I would later think about them and let my memory jog to retrieve the rest of the dream, or at least a lot of them.
