      pre-WILD hallucinations and a question.

      Firstly - hello, i'm new.
Secondly - sorry for my bad english, i'm not a native speaker.

To start with, i've already had 4 dilds and 1 wild. Recently, something weird happened. I was laying on my bed trying to get a WILD. I saw some hypnagogic images (simple patterns) and soon (well meaby not so soon lol) i was standing on the line between dream and reality. Blinding white light, almost unbearable noise in the ears, this heavy "drilling" sensation in my head ( i recognise it as a reality-dream crossing point from my previous wild ). After a short moment it ended, but i was still lying in my bed, not lucid dreaming. i did some reality checks that doesn't involve moving or opening eyes.
I must say that i was 100% sure that i'm awake and not dreaming, a little dizzy though.

And then i opened my imaginary eyes. I saw my friend (also involved in LDs) sitting on a chair next to me. He was.. umm.. mocking me that i can't enter LD. Then we had 2 short discussions on 2 different topics. Well.. actually only he was talking, but he knew what i think, somehow. First discussion took place in the room described above, while second took place while we were standing in the dining room. This hallucination was really vivid and realistic. I knew my partner is just a hallucination. Whole time i was aware that i'm lying in my bed. I had this kinf of extreem feeling that it's not a dream and i'm awake (I'm 100% sure it was nowhere near dreaming). After second discussion he disappeared, i opened my real eyes, went to bathroom. Of cours i did many reality checks after standing and it wasn't a dream (if it was then i can no longer tell dream from reality lol ) i knew that if i go to sleep i won't remember what we were talking about after awakening, but it was already morning and i was exhausted after about 6 hours of trying to induce LD.

The first question is, what do you think about it. The part when i was laying - was it a weird hallucination or some kind of super sophiticated semi-lucid dream without control?

And the second thing, that really matters to me is - when i was laying there i asked my friend to pinch me (i didn't say anything but he knew what i want from him). He pinched my arm and it DID really hurt O.o ( i pinched myself after standing and it felt the same).

Did something similiar happen to anyone ? What do You think about it?

Ps. I believe that this is the proper place to post this topic and not in the newbie zone or WILD section.

Pain is all in the mind so yes you can feel it in dreams, I have multiple times. To answer your other question, it was most likely a semi-lucid dream or actually by the way you describe it a normal dream.

Well i'm still not convinced that it was just a normal dream, rather some kind of waking dream / day-dream, and doesn't that still count as a hallucination? And for the pain. Sure it is all in the mind but doesn't human mind have some safety mechanism.. umm.. embeded to prevent such situations? I had 3 nightmares in my life and while it was a traumatizing experience, there was no real paine involved.

If it's a normal experience to feel pain in dreams for lucid dreamers, then it's a dangerous path we are walking ; ) <evil_smile>

I've had dream last night where someone was sticking nails with a hammer into my palms for some sort of exercise(I workout) in order to gain more stability. The pain was excruciating, I could still feel it throughout the day. It was a non lucid dream by the way.

It's all a matter of whether you expect it or not. If I am dreaming and jump of the roof of my house and I expect to feel pain I will. If I know I will be all right then I will be all right.
