I know at first you think this sounds stupid. The books I’ve read from psychologists use animals as an example of mammals that dream and forget all there dreams because we are raised with our parents telling us “oh that was just and dream” and because of language and communication we come to be able to tell waking awareness from the dreams. Well I’m not convinced. I raised my puppy mini pincher from the time he could fit in my pocket. He sleeps with me and just like a child he had nightmares and I would awaken him and ensure him it was ok and that it was just a dream. After about a year he stopped having nightmares just like an adolescent. Dog years progress faster then people. A bird will look in the mirror and think there’s another bird. But a dog is a little more advanced then that. They know who’s around and just might be a little more aware then we think.
