      Does Lucid Dreaming Change

The Schemata of Things.................ie...........knowing what could be............ie.....................knowing what's wrapped in one's Christmas Giftts Beforehand.

You kind of lost me there about the time you started talking about knowing what was in your christmas gift.

Anyway, lucid dreaming does change your schemata, but of course, so does about everything else you experience.

I believe though that lucid dreaming changes it in a positive way. Most lucid dreamers I know are happier and have a much healthier outlook on life. They just seem to be more in touch with themselves
you must be the change you wish to see in the world...

Are you asking if lucid dreaming can give you insight to the future?

Some people say they can see the future through their lucid dreams. I, however; cannot see the future through my lucid dreams, therefore, I don't believe lucid dreaming gives you the power to see the future. Sure, every once in a while you'll have a dream and something similar may happen later, but that doesn't mean you can see into the future.

I'm sorry but I think you are wrong. The Future does indeed effect the Past. It's All a bit of a Mish-Mash.

Yes, I agree. The future affects the past every bit as much as the past affects the future. The only reason that causality seems to move from past to future is because of the second "law" of thermodynamics, which states that there happens to be more entropy (disorder) towards our future. This causes the brain to best understand things in the past because it can organize information from the past, throwing disorganization into the future.

However, brain operations are of course sometimes influenced by things on a small scale (for example, I could definitely be wrong, but I think memories can be held on little protiens similar to prions). The second "law" of thermodynamics does not always hold mechanically, especially on a small scale; and also time itself can be circumvented in some ways through quantum mechanics (that is, particles in different times can influence each other -- even from future to past).

So I think that if we alter our consciousness and increase our sensitivity to "abnormal" ways of thinking it should be perfectly possible to know what's in our Christamas present. I'm not sure if it could be done with complete accuracy though; certainly not unless we TOTALLY change the way we perceive consciousness, achieving the experience of non-directed time .

Maybe you chould read Gothlark's dream journal because it reminds me of this near the end... Although it has become a bit enigmatic lately, since Gothlark has disappeared...
