In my opinion and substances really don't have much of an effect. They are just more of a placebo. As for your WBTB I usually just kinda wake up and then go immediately back to bed when my alarm shuts off and I have had great success with that, but that's just me. I find if I stay up longer I can't go back to sleep, BUT if you find that you can a good thing to do would be to go here on Dreamviews and maybe chat up some of the people in IRC or maybe look at some tutorials or skim the Wiki, just to give your mind that extra assurance of what you are going to be doing. Also as you fall asleep, try visualizing an old dream and imagining yourself becoming lucid in it. Also for maybe 10 minutes or so as you fall asleep something like " The next time I'm dreaming I will do a reality check" or "I will have a lucid dream". You can combine the two for some better chances. |
