Question Weird dream state... what is it?

A few days ago I went to bed earlier than my usual time. After 15 mins of thinking I finally drifted into sleep. I don't know when I actually reached this state or how... It was kinda like I partly woke up (just my conscious not my body).
Anyways, when I realized this I quickly thought of trying to lucid dream since I'm in this state. Suddenly I felt this strange feeling coming from the back of my head, or to be more precise, from the position of the cerebellum. It would gather up at that spot (intensify) and at a certain limit it would... hmm... explode? Sending the feeling throughout my body and disappear. All that would last for like 3-4 seconds. And it would repeat, just like a pulse, each time more powerful. It was the feeling of being free from my body (it's that feeling that you get when going into a dream consciously). After 3-4 pulses, when it would get strong enough, I would be able to enter a lucid dream.
Everytime the dream would end I would return in that state again and just wait for the right pulse and start dreaming. It was fun I had 4 dreams in a row, but they lasted no more than 1 minute each. When my last dream ended I could still feel the pulse but I lost my conscious.
This isn't the first time I've been in this kind of state. Last one happened... 6 months ago? ...
Well anyways, what I want to know is: what the hell is this?

Most people would say you are in sleep paralysis (myself included). These pulses sound like the vibrations most people experience, but interestingly you seem to be producing these consciously. I have not read a lot about people doing it consciously, but I know that I definitely can do it consciously as well. I send a pulse through my legs instead though. However, I can do this awake at any time. While awake, it's only one pulse as opposed to the series I get in sleep paralysis. See if you can do yours awake as well.

Honestly, I don't know what it is. It should be stated that what you see, feel, hear, etc. while in sleep paralysis is very individual. It's possible very few, if any, people have experienced this, or that many have. By the way, in case you didn't know, you were WILDing and were successful at that.

I can do it too somewhat consciously, although to get in the sleep paralysis state is the difficult part, at least for me. I haven't been able to do it in a long time.

Ah, so it was some kind of a sleep paralysis. I have read just a few posts of people experiencing sleep paralysis and what they felt but I didn't believe it was it since I could not really compare them to what I felt.

I send a pulse through my legs instead though. However, I can do this awake at any time. While awake, it's only one pulse as opposed to the series I get in sleep paralysis. See if you can do yours awake as well.
I can send a pulse while awake too, but only through my legs and hearth ( weird). I try different parts of my body but to no avail.

And you're saying it was a WILD? Heh, my first successful WILD since I joined this forum and I didn't even know it . I just hope I will succeed again in less than 6 months .

Thanks for clearing this up for me.

I can also make this feeling happen anytime while awake.

Something similar happens to me. I think it's the exact stage between awake and hypnagogia.

For me, it feels like an intense numbing feeling that overcomes me. It's sort of like a crescendo, intensifying to a climax, at which point I feel as if I come out of my body.

Have you ever had a tooth drilled at the dentist? It feels like the vibration from the drill. Unpleasant, but usually not painful.

I've had this experience wherein I know I'm dreaming but I ignore that fact because I'm so caught up with the world I'm in like it is my reality.

Wait, has anybody seen Inception by Leo? I'm currently watching it via Fast-Debrid. Is this considered lucid dreaming?
