any recommendations as to the type of earplugs to use ?

I’ve heard some people talk about using earplugs. Does anyone have any recommendations as to the type of earplugs to use and where to get them? I used to use earplugs when swimming and they come in different shapes. The last ones I used where like little shapeless pieces of soft rubber. I think there are some types that would irritate the ears after a few hours but never tried using them out of water.

DT007, the earplugs I use I believe I got at Target but you can probably get them (or something similar) at any drugstore. If not they have a website: http://www.dapworld.com/products-noise.htm Mine are "ear filters" called "HEAROS" and you would definately not use these for swimming. They are super soft, beige in color and you flatten them and then stick them in your ears. The box says that they have a noise reduction rating of 30 decibels. I find these to be very comfortable. They don't filter extremely loud sounds but they do filter enough sound so that I can concentrate on my breathing or on my affirmations. There were 40 in the box and they didn't cost alot. I use sometimes earplugs. However, use them when you want to go WILD. Otherwise, they dont help me but in the contrary, they exert pressure at my ears and sometimes they hurt. They are good too if you want to sleep in a noisy place. You can find them easily at your nearest Drug store. There are many types of earplugs.
