I look at it like this:
      There is an in-breath,
      There is an out-breath,
      This is natural.
We come into existence in physical form,
We leave existence of physical form,
      This too is natural.

We are "born" from some-thing because we are some-thing, and it makes no sense for some-thing to come from no-thing.

We must therefore return to some-thing. This something is our True Home. No-thing can be made into nothing. A sheet of paper comes from the tree, clouds and soil. It changes when it is burned or shredded, but it can never "cease" to exist. We are of this same nature. We don't die, we change and return to the one.

I am not afraid of death, I just don't want to be there when it happens. Woody Allen
"I was looking back to see if you were looking back at me to see me looking back at you".

We all die...so I have to say that I'm not afraid of it.

I'd like to say I'm not but I am, which is also a reason why about 3/4 of my dreams involve death

I think the only thing about death I'm afraid of is the cause.

Was scared.. then had a couple near-death experiances. Not scared anymore.. actually, almost looking forward to it, but it seems to just like teasing me.
      Just keep moving…

Well considering I have "achieving immortality " on my To-Do list, I don't think I have anything to fear. Then again, with my nature to procrastinate, I should probably move that one up a bit in priority.

      TO-DO LIST

      Hit the grocery store
      Mow the lawn
      Learn to Skydive online
      Get Car inspected
      Fix the pool filter
      Achieve immortality
      Take dog to the Kennel
Hide the kids...Uncle ITM is back!

According to Freud, one of our body's main goal in life is to die. Death is the happy oblivion, where all worries vanish, you don't have to think, you can just drift away. I am not afraid of death, I actually look forward to that moment when I just let go and release everything and just... well... die.

I'm not afraid of dying, i just think it sucks that you dont have a choise about it, and that everything you do the time youre alive, has no meaning for yourself when you are dead, it's like if it all is for nothing.. i know that it will probably have some meaning for someone after you die, but not for yourself.. that thought there is one that i think about pretty often..

Nah....We're all gonna die one day.

I would like to go like my beloved granny did.

She was sewing a quilt with her sister. Her sister gets up to get a cup of coffee for herself and granny. And, when she come back into the living room she finds my granny with her head leaning forward like she just dozed off. She had just died.

      So quick...So peaceful....

And she still had her quilting needle in her hand.
Happiness is like peeing in your pants....
Everyone can see it. But only you can feel the warmth.

      Frankly, not too much.

I'm a very old man, but I was a trained athlete and so I can still accomplish things when I want to. I was out at the bay snorkeling when it occurred to me that the breakers were not really that high. So I swam out to them, about a quarter of a mile and was able to push through the waves and get out to where the bottom just fell away and I was out in the Ocean. I had neglected to consult the tide charts and I found I was floating out to sea faster than I could swim into shore. Ordinarily this means that one is going to die. And so I thought to myself that I had lived a full life, had been in love, flown airplanes, raced motorcycles, had beautiful women, produced a beautiful and smart daughter with whom I was very proud, and then I remembered God, the Blessed Virgin and all of the Saints, and then commended my Soul to heaven (well... Purgatory ). I was quite at peace.

And then I noticed that when the wave surge came in it would push me back to shore by a few feet. So I came up with a plan. I would swim down to the bottom and grab onto a rock so that I would not go out to sea any further, and I would wait for a incoming wave surge and swim like hell while it took me in toward shore, and then when it passed me, I would again submerge to find another rock to hold onto. After about 20 minutes of that strategy I was again within the reef line.

But I had faced death and not peed myself.

      Yes, I am affraid.

If I have to go, I want to go in my sleep, with no pain.

      Any other way....*shudders*

No...just no. I haven't lived a long life, and I haven't done hardly anything! Sure, I"ve learned basic HTML, I learned a lot about games, but I haven't learned about the bible, or 'found God' like a lot supposidly have. I've tried the whole 'spirtual thing' and it didn't seem to work that well...I guess I'm a pure christian, and I'm concerned that LD's might be....evil by biblical standards, although I do not see HOW they could, but I just get feelings, ya know?

Don't be concerned about things "being evil by Biblical Standards". When people say such things they are refering to the writings of Paul. Well, who was Paul? Paul was a self appointed apostle who gained Peter's sponsorship, by first murdering Peter's political rival Stephen, and then by bringing Peter a big bag of money from the Greeks. The other Apostles hated Paul and all of the Apostolic Letters, outside of Paul's, are almost entirely dedicated to refuting Paul's Doctrines. Frankly I think Paul was the Antichrist. so I shouldn't worry that anything I would do would upset Paul or those who follow Paul. Paul was a nobody and so who should care?

Christ, on the otherhand, said "Seek and you will find; Knock and it will be openned unto you" which clearly means that the Spiritual Adventure is not only allowed, but positively enjoined upon us.

      Yes and no
I've almost died several times in my life and each time I clung to life terrified of the unknown. As much as I would like to just get it over with and find out what is waiting for me when I die I'm still scared of what's to become. On one hand I hope that there's more to this life than just a one time fluke of an existence for this consciousness I have and on the other hand it would be nice to be able to leave all this and never have to think another thought or feel another feeling again.
All of us go down slow and then we rise again
just like a tide out at sea we lower and rise again

Now that I think about it, if I were to die today, tomorrow there would be about a dozen very hungry cats wondering what happened to the Food Man.

      Hahaha! Lol Leo

I have thought obout this many times.
At times I think that I have come to terms with death. Ofcoarse I realize we all are going to die.
But Depending on the curcumsrances, it is really hard to say unless you were put in the situation.
If someone told me I had two weeks to live. I am certainly not ready to die. There would have to be some serious soul searching. So I guess I do fear death. As stated earlier how death comes is a big factor as well.

I think I might change my avatar! It seems like he is sitting there........waiting!

i am most scared of spiders and being sick. as long as dying doesnt involve them, it should be bearable.

I'm not really scared of death, I almost look forward to it just to prove that there is no heaven or hell.

I am maybe scared of very painful death, something like burning or die in cold or something. Don't say that life is short, it's the longest thing your ever going to have, so enjoy it!

Yes, two weeks. That is time enough to fret. But say you were in that position I described, one in which it was quite immanent that you were about to be drowned. Then I suspect you would come along just fine.

But two weeks? .... One would have to be running around seeing lawyers and juggling bank accounts, and trying to get that last date with Sandra Bulluck.... yes, it would be hectic to say the least.
