Okay, I was having a lucid dream, and nothing electronic would work, especially my phone. Any idea why?

Im not sure on why electronic stuff doesn't work right in dreams, but it happens to alot of people.

My most recent dream, I couldn't get a pop machine to work until I threatened it with a hammer, then it worked great lol.

Electronics are not all that natural to the subconcious mind I guess.
You're dreaming mind just wants to keep things simple, or it just does not have the capacity load to think about all the physical effects of mechanics for itself, whilst the body is repairing and resting (well, it is sleep).

I believe you are heading in the right direction with this line of reasoning. I always like to use the Bird vs. the Plate Glass Window example.

Have you ever noticed that a lot of birds end up killing themselves on glass windows? Birds, like most animals have hard coded behaviors, instincts if you will. For millions of years, it has been bread into them that if they cannot see something, then it isn't there. So, the bird ends up knocking it's brain out on the glass because it doesn't believe anything is there to impede its flight. Glass has been around for a relatively short time and birds instincts have not yet developed to comprehend it.

I believe the same force is at work in the dreaming mind. Electronic technology has been around for even less time that glass, therefore, the instinctive part of our brain has not yet made the connection between say flipping a switch and having music come out of a box.

Now Kastro on the other hand speaks of using a hammer and it working very well. The hammer, or club, rock, fist, or any tool like that has been around for millions of years and the human instinct CAN make a direct cause and effect relationship between events.

i.e. Smash open the drink maching with the hammer, claim your reward.

Oh, no! Shame on you to underrate dreaming consciousness that way... It has the capacity. It has much more capacity, I'm sure!

The only reason something not to work in a LD is the lack of intention it to works.

Our power for lucid dreaming is often not enough to satisfy our demands about tne dream-environment...

OK, I will agree with that. I have found that whenever I focus my intention on an electrical device in a lucid dream that I can make it work. But... Is this not an example of focussing our concious, intellectual mind on the problem?

Often, when I am not focussing on it, devices will not work. I have flipped light switches in lucid dreams before and the lights have not come on. I will usually just grin and say "Yep, silly Seeker, you know better than that". At this point I will usually point to the light and focus my will on it to make it come on.

Somehow, it's much more satisfying to will something to happen.

But I never did smash it open, I just held up the hammer, and said "If you dont work, im breaking you" and then it worked.
