      CILD << Check it out

Hey, I was reading about this machine that vibrates to tell you that your dreaming... I'm a poor college student so I came up w/ a cheaper method.

This is an experiment I'm about to try. Cellphone Induced Lucid Dreaming. I set my cell to vibrate every hour. When that hour comes and it vibrates, I perform a reality check. After a few days of this I'm conditioned to do a RC every time it vibrates. So now... I fall asleep and set it to vibrate like 4-6 hours into my sleep cycle (thats when we Dream the deepest right??). I'll tape it to my arm or something. So I'm in my dream. It goes off. It reminds me to do a reality check right there in my dream. And BAM!! MY FIRST LUCID DREAM!! So do you guys think this will work. See any flaws? Help me out!

yeah people do this with watches too, set alarms every hour.

my watch and my cellphone are too crappy to have these options.

I have a welcoming message on my phone everytime i turn it on that reads: "Are you dreaming or awake"?

Moblie Phones are good tools, i like your idea of CILD

i used set my alarm every few hours to perform reality checks but used to get annoyed at the BEEP BEEP BEEP so i never used to perform the reality checks

Ive had a few dreams when ive tried using my phone, i always think its good when your inside a dream when it doesnt work.

Okay, that's slightly spooky...i have a welcoming message that simply says, 'Are you dreaming?'

I thought i was the only one who did that...

I have tried something like that, exept I used the *beep* sound and not the vibration, I can't remember what happened but it didn't give me lucid dream... I think it woke me up.

Hello coreysnyder!! A fellow Ohioian. I live east of Cleveland.

I have tried my watch in the same manner. If I turned it up too loud it woke me up. When I turned it down nothing happened?!?

But It is worth a try. Why not.

I also thought of that and got really excited cuz I thought it would work perfectly, but then I found out that my cell has three types of alarms, one that flashes, one that beeps and one that flashes and beeps, but it can only vibrate when ppl call ya

well mine has an alarm that vibrates but the problem is.. it keeps going till I open the phone... so it might make me lucid dream.. but soon after im gonna be waking up to shut the damn thing up. Do you think just conditioning myself to perform many Reality checks every hour will heighten my chances of me dreaming my phone is buzzing and doing a RC?

Had the same problem. I didn't know though when I tried it and set a vibrate alarm every hour during the night hoping it would work like the devices for sale. Stuffed it in my pillowcase (so it wouldn't fall off the bed and would still vibrate enough for me to notice) and the next thing I know I was waken up by the phone at 5am and rather then turning it off I just threw it in my chair and a few hours later when I woke up again it was still going.

Damn... we need to figure some cheap way of doing this. Maybe I'll just set it to go off every hour. But then dont bother when I fall asleep. If I do it enuff during the day, then maybe i'll dream my phone vibratez and turn it off.

HELLOOOOO, anyone with a pc in their room can already download a free alarmclock and use a custom wav file set at a custom volume to induce lucidity. (a headset really helps but i suppose the speakers would work fine too)

i did it once with a file of me saying stuff about awakening to consciousness or something. i think i had the volume too loud tho cuz i would just wake up and hit them off my head and go back to sleep. might work if i tweaked the volume a ltitle bit more but i kinda gave up. it did improve recall a bit obviously
