why 60-90 minutes?

Why do they want you to stay up for 60-90+ minutes? When im up for that long im not sleepy anymore.. why would you fall right back into dream sleep? Wouldnt you have to re-start your sleep cycle?

Are you talking about WILD? If so, it's just a precaution to make sure you don't drift back off to sleep immediately. This isn't an exact number, merely a rough average for most people. Just stay up long enough that you won't fall asleep instantly, but you won't be trying to for the next four hours to go back to sleep either. Personally, if I stay up more than 5 minutes my chances of WILDing are slim to none. Just find the time amount that you're comfortable with. It'll take time to get it right, but WILDs are almost never successful until you've practiced for a month or two. Definitely worth it though.

you know that tired feeling you have after sleeping only for a few hours? yes even at midday? well make sure u have that feeling when u stay up for a while before a wild attempt. make sure to set an alarm for 5 hours after you go to bed at night so u can stay up a few hours or so and still be tired enough for a wild
