Crashyy, are you getting 6 hours of sleep each night you do WBTB, or are you waking yourself up for WBTB after six hours of sleep, then sleeping for another 2 hours? It could be that you're lacking sleep, and that's what is hurting your recall. Perhaps save WBTB for the weekends.
If I misunderstood, then I agree with Metallicuh's suggestion. Waking up naturally is a good idea if possible. You might be waking yourself up in the beginning of REM accidentally. My dreams are more often than not fuzzy or vague if I use an alarm to wake myself up. When I do want to wake myself up, I like to use my phone's vibrate setting. It's much less jarring that way.
