      Wierd trend

I've been having this wierd dreamming trend. Whenever I go out and get drunk when I go home and sleep during the night I get these really vivid dreams that I can remember easily. The last time I had a dream I was a knight in blue armor jousting against all these other knights in different colored armor then there was this centaur named Jouster and I challeged him and won lol. My condition when I go to sleep ranges from sober to still drunk. I just wanted to know if anyone else experiences anything similar? Don't worry I wont increase the ammount of times I go out drinking it stays at about 1-2 times a month. Maybe I should drink a beer every once in awhile before I go to bed lol.

I could be wrong but I thought I've read on here quite a few times that alchohol inhibits your ability to either get to stage IV of sleep or keep you in that stage for long. So, actually, the alchohol should be preventing you from having vivid dreams.

Usually, the lack of dreaming that you get from that night, however, is made up the next time you sleep (considering you don't go to bed drunk again).

I've noticed the same thing too, and lucid dreams come more often when I have been drinking beer last night. It's summer, so I can't stick at 1-2 times in month, so I drink about 1-3 a week

Maybe I shouldn't so much, but It's summer. I've also heard that beer has B-vitamin in it, would this be true? This could be the cause of those vivid/lucid dreams after drinking beer.

I can never remember my dreams when I go to sleep after I've been drinking.
The next night I usually have pretty vivid dreams.

Dagonis, try taking b6 before you go to sleep when you have been drinking, maybe your dreams could get even better.

At least I'm not the only one. I'm not doubting it inhibits some people's ability to dream but not everyones. I don't drink often but I noticed every time I do that night I remember my dreams vividly. I'm thinking I don't sleep as deeply when I have alchohol in my system. I was only joking about drinking more so don't worry like I said I only wanted to know if anyone else experienced the same thing.

I was looking up a little about vitamin B6 and I found this little tidbit.

Using Tobacco, Alcohol or Coffee prohibits the absorption of necessary vitamins and amino acids. Depressants suppress REM sleep, one is Alcohol, but taken in right doses can create a rebound effect so that you wake up remembering many vivid dreams.

I knew it! lol I'm guessing once my body filters out enough of the alcohol in my system it reaches that state where my dreams become more vivid. Found it in http://www.dreamviews.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=17506 If you want to read the whole thing on B6.
