Thread: lucid books

tomorrow is pay day baby. and i plan on buying a book on lucid dreaming to read while in bed or when i wake up before WBTBing. i know theres lots out there, so which book do you guys think is the best or the one i should read first.

Well, I dont know much about LD'ing, seeing as I have never done it before, but I am currently reading " Exploring the World of Lucid Dreaming" by Steven LaBerge, it seems very informative on all the different methods of induction techniques. But I wouldn't know what is best, I'm a newbie

I read EWLD, and liked it a lot. Not just cause of the LD techniques and all that, but because of the background information as well. I learned a lot of stuff not just about dreaming, but more about how the mind works. Laberge is very down to earth, so you won't see any of that tele-pyro-psiball-sillyputty-kinesis stuff.

I also highly recommend EWLD, it's got heaps of practical info and as Replicon said, other interesting related info too. Lucid Dreaming is good too but there's less emphasis on practical info and techniques. It's a good read, but EWLD is the best if you want to learn LD.

But Amazon.com has listing for an old classic on Dreaming in General, which puts Lucid Dreaming into a greater context -- "Dream Power" by Dr. Ann Faraday.

well just put in my order for EWLD and Dream Power on amazon.com...Only 6.99 for EWLD..and get this, a ridiculous 90 cents for Dream Power. Yes, .90, thats 9 dimes. New too, not even used. i find that pretty crazy but hey, sweet deal for me. I don't think its the same dream power that you were talking about though. Dream Power: How to Use Your Night Dreams to Change Your Life - Cynthia Richmond is its title but cant beat 90 cents.

Hope you enjoy the book, Exploring the World of Lucid Dreaming it is a classic.

A book I find interesting is "Lucid Dreams" by Celia Green, it was written in 1968 so it doesn’t have that postmodernist feeling you get from books today.

I think it was the first 'mainstream' book about lucid dreaming.

Its really interesting to see the concepts behind lucid dreaming in its early development.
