Do you need a good dream recall for WILD?

Is it possible, that you had a lucid dream and can not remember it when waking up? (like it never happened) I have a bad dream recall and I'm worried, that i already had a Lucid Dream, but can't remember it. :< Is a good dream recall neccesary for WILD?

While people speculate that it is possible to have a lucid dream and forget it, but I don't think there has ever been a documented proven case of this happening - kind of hard to prove. Actually, I may have had one of those once: all I remember is waking up excitedly thinking "yes, I did it! I had a lucid dream!" But that's all I could remember. It is however also possible that this was the entire content of my dream, and that I was not actually lucid but just dreaming about being lucid. Since I cannot remember, all I can do is speculate. Working on improving dream recall is a good idea no matter what, and it applies to all dreams, non lucid and lucid (DILD and WILD). However, if I were you I would not worry too much about having forgotten a lucid dream already, since there is nothing you can do about that and no way to know. It is possible, I am fairly certain that it has happened to me. I know this because often I wake up and do not remember that I had a lucid dream until I begin writing the dream down in my DJ. Then I realise "Oh shit, I was lucid!" Since I often do not remember it right away I guess I must have forgotten some.

For me, the lucids I have had have been sooo vividly amazing that I can't imagine NOT remembering them....but then they were so short there was not much to remember. The whole point about LD is that you know you are dreaming, and therefore have heightened awareness, so I suggest you just don't have one and not realise. You may not remember all the detail, but will realise it's happened.

Im 100% sure it is possible to forget ever having a lucid dream. Just this week i had a lucid dream which i only remembered a good while after waking up and writing down what i did remember. The memory was triggered by thinking about swords later in the day. Then it hit me that i was lucid while fighting a giant, in my hand was a strange white sword (more like a fang). the giant had actually been summoned by me to fight, and as the memory came to me i distinctly remember repeating to myself "this is a dream" (to easy fear and stay aware) as i charged towards the giant. EDIT: Don't worry about forgetting lucids though, concentrate on what you can do and what you can remember. Its always possible to have more lucids.

I sometimes forget some of my dreams, then during the day I just daydream or a thought appears, after that it triggers me to remember the dream that I had which was the thought that I had etc. But for now, do not worry about not remembering your LD, Bambooz. Which was mentioned by others, because with enough practice, recalling dreams will be easier.
