      I lost it

I began this dream hobby at the beginning of this summer break and was progressing well. I tried WILDing just for fun on the first day and already got to sleep paralysis+colors. I began perfectly remembering 2 or 3 dreams everyday and even had a record of 5 one day. Then, sometime in July, I achieved Lucid Dreaming and it was the most amazing experience of my life.

Then, it all died. I had my lucid fun during my vacation in Israel, and upon my return to the U.S., I was immediately faced with stress from a large Karate tournament I was enrolled in, summer reading, and now school. I was always busy or extremely tired and had no time to focus on dreaming. And it all went down the drain. I now do not remember dreams at all most of the time (today was the first time since I returned that I remember my dreams and I returned more than 6 weeks ago. I had two dreams today just for the record and I remember them okay but not amazingly) and the excitement which drove me originally is replaced with fatigue from my life. I really want this excitement to return, but it just won't and I must regain what I had before. Can anyone here offer me some help? I need this to return. It was the one thing in my life that I really regarded as an amazing ability. Any help will be GREATLY appreciated. Thank you.

Honestly, hon, I wouldn’t stress so much over it. Sometimes when your body and mind go through changes, you sort of ‘temporarily’ lose the ability to LD. No, let me restate that a bit: it’s not that you’ve lost it, it’s just that your body and mind are readjusting to things and they take a break from the dreaming for a short time. The same thing happened to me when I moved from Maine to Texas last year, and then again when I moved from Texas across the sea to the Netherlands only a few weeks ago. Really the only help I can offer is the suggestion to relax and give it some time. It’ll come back to you before you know it. ^_^

By the way, belated welcome to the forum! If you have any more questions, please feel free to ask.

P.S. (slightly off topic) How did you do in the martial arts tournament? Man, I miss those days...

Well it's not that much of me losing the ability to LD, it's like I lost my ability to remember my dreams at all. Well, anyway, I hope you're right.

Oh and I got 3rd in the demonstration-like event, but I did really bad in sparring.

Yeah, don't worry too much about it. It'll work itself out. ^_^

And congratulations! I didn't even rank at my tourney, but I had a lot of fun. ^_^

I think you're right. I'm starting to remember dreams again. I probably was just not concentrating on dreaming enough.

THe same thing happened to me, I was remembering tons of dreams and lucided about 10 times, then I went to a camp for 2 weeks and when I got back I couldnt remember any dreams or lucid

Im mad at myself last night because I was dreaming and I realised I was, but instead of just changing the setting becasue I couldn't think of what to change it to in time and I had to do it quick (a killer was coming for me) I just decided to wake myself up by blinking alot.

So I was in my bed and I was like, I probably just had a FA and am still dreaming, so I should do an RC but as I was about to try to put my fingers through my hand I realized my hand was numb and I was like "if my hand is numb theres no way im dreaming" so I went back to sleep(in my dream) IM pissed, casue I had a chance to lucid for the first time in a while but I didnt.

Why, your still young, and your studies and commensing career should be your priorities. It is just right that you should be pre-occupied at this stage of your life in practical matters. Dreaming can wait. Spirituality can wait. Finish the things that you need to finish, and then pick up on all of this other stuff later, when you do have the time to sacrifice for it. Simply put Lucid Dreaming on your 'To Do' List.

In your Physical Waking Life you need to put down the solid roots that you can depend upon later in your Spiritual Life. If you disregard your career, then you might become jobless, homeless and desparate, and THEN how much time and leisure do you suppose you will have to commit to your spiritual development.

But if you must continue with your spirituality, be sure to keep in in some balance with your physical and material concerns.

Moderation in everything is the first rule of Philosophy.
