Does stress affect lucid dreaming?

For most of my Lucid Dreaming practices, I noticed that every time I'm stressed or doing something such as school stuff, I barely have any lucid dreams. For example: on my summer break, I had 50+ dreams recorded and some minor ones but at school time, I only get to record as much as 3 per month. I don't know if its the stress of school or something else, but one time my class had a one week vacation and I was able to get one dream a day, a vivid dream. If anyone has tips on how I can still have good lucid dreams while school is going on, please respond I'd appreciate it! :)

I guess you have the proff that stress can interfere with lucid dreaming. So, to avoid that you cannot stress (simple, huh?)
My suggestions are:
-to read something before you go to sleep to keep your mind off school.
-meditation is good.
-when sleeping, try the MILD technique. This technique will keep your mind off stressful stuff and concentrate on how you want your lucid dream to be.

Yeah, Just as DreamHighlander has said, all those above things should work somewhat well. As hard as it sounds.. Try not to be so stressed, but consciously make an effort to do so. Also, I think in this area, Meditation is key. It always helps me. Also, Try and keep a healthy, nutritious diet about you.

It definitely does.
If you are stressed over something then it will be harder to invest time on lucid dreaming, since your mind will always be concerned with whatever problems you have then.

I always thought that once you have gone to bed then you might as well allow yourself to feel completely relaxed - of course, this can be hard if you worry about something very serious, but as long as it's something trivial like "I should study a few hours tomorrow after school!" then you should just let go of that for the rest of the night and take a journey into the dreamworld for a few hours. :content:

Stress is my enemy too mate. It is ld killer for sure. My goal is to rid of it and let go all of my fear. But how to do that? Nowadays, I work on method of changing my mind - process of connecting memories and manipulate with them using conviction myself by reasonable arguments. Meditation will clear your mind and relax your thoughts on the stressful stuff in life and I suggest doing a wake back to bed technique on the weekends, if you sleep in those always work. Keeping your mind free of stress about an hour or so before bed is usually helpful aswell. You can also set alarms at 4:30 and 6 hours into sleep cause those will hit REM cycles which means you will probably wake up from a dream hence easier to record it down right then and there. maybe you can adjust your nights sleep to wake up in the morning right after the REM period is over so you can easily recall your last dream instead of waking up in the night if you don't prefer to do so. Say you sleep for 7 hours and 50 minutes this will usually be a time where you wake up after or from REM because they happen every 90 minutes or so depending on the person. This will make dream recall easier which is vital for lucid dreaming
