My whole life mostly, but it wasn't for no reason. I think some of my earliest LDs were when I was 4 or so (I didn't hear the term of LDing until I was around 11), and they were from recurring nightmares--after a while, I realized what was going on and think "hey, this is familiar," get lucid, wake myself up (it was a couple of years before I realized I could control the dream). It happened quite often to the point where I learned what a dream "felt" like and how it was different from reality, which is where my DILDs mostly come from today.
So yeah, I suppose I'm a natural, although I will admit that ever since I started fully practicing lucid dreaming (tried it when I was 11, put it aside for a few years, started it up again just last year), my dreams and LDs have been a lot more vivid, longer, and worthwhile. The effort definitely counts.
