How effective is meditation in lucid dreams?

      Hello

I was reading through this forum and a member of this forum said something along the lines that when you meditate in a lucid dream, any sort of meditation that for every second you meditate in a lucid dreams it is like you are meditating for 10,000 years because a dream character came to him and told him that.

I am currently a practicioner in Reiki Tummo, and at level 3A right now.
This September I am taking a workshop where they wil give me an attunement which is activate my pineal gland and allow me to meditate very easily as if I had 10 years of meditation experience given in just a day.

So if I meditate in lucid dreams after this workshop, will it be so effective? What would be the effects on me if I meditate and what type of meditation is safe that I can do in a lucid dream? Is it dangerous at all?

In a lucid dream I had this morning, I wanted to levitate, and I did so through meditation. I sat cross-legged on a table, and was easily able to focus my mind to a point. I then saw my body shifing around in relation to the world, and then lifted up a couple feet. I haven't tried LD meditation for any other purposes, but it seems that being in a state of oblivion in respect to the outside world, you certainly would have an atvantage. If you attain true enlightenment over night, don't forget to come and let us know before you trancend our puny existence!

Well, Julian, I've seen other people mention meditating in a lucid dream as well. However, to me that would seem at least extremely difficult (if not impossible) because I have also read (in the all mighty Exploring the World of Lucid Dreaming - Stephen LeBerge) that one method of getting ourselves to wake up from a dream is to close our yes and fall asleep within our dream - it is like the opposit of real life. Therefore, meditation (which requires us to close our eyes and get very relaxed) would likely have you wake up, no?

At least that's what I think. I never tried it.

Ah, but meditation does not require closed eyes. In fact, some forms of contemplative meditation require that you keep your eyes fixed on a yantra, as a focal point. There are as many different ways to mediatate as there are ways to breathe.

true, I suppose meditating in dreams must help a lot because your mind is completely focused on YOU, and you dont have to worry about your ass itching or anything like that, you can also create a nice silent room and meditate there...I really dont know much about reiki, ive heard of it, and I wanted to become one, but I saw im a lot better as a psion, and by the way, who gave you your attunement?

Hmmmm. I think I spoken a few times about having once been visited in a Dream by one of my Gurus who told me that "Even a few seconds of Meditation in a dream are worth thousand of hours of waking Meditation". And yes, it does seem to be true. One only needs to start a certain Meditation, Prayer, or Mantra in a Dream and suddenly the state of Consciousness that it epitomizes is attained almost instantaneously. One is much closer to the Heart of Spirituality when in the Dream World then when in the Physical World... a lot less distance to cover in order to get to the same objectives.

Safety? Safety is in one's Philosophy of Life. Is one Good or is one Evil. Summoning Demons in order to Cast Spells, well, that would be dangerous. But if one is practicing any form of Spirituality aimed at Unity, Peace and Love, then there certainly is not any danger. 'Go toward the Light' is always the safest advice.

But there are traditions, if one does not know of these things. Below are some Online Books and Websites of some very good Organizations which I can personally vouch for:

You can experience the highest state of consciousness in a dream by willing yourself to do it. Think about the oneness and extreme beauty of all things and feel totally serene. When you do that, you are there. Read about higher consciousness and then try to create it in your dreams. You can do anything in a dream.
How do you know you are not dreaming right now?

Ah! There you are. Of course! you will have to try some of this. I saw somewhere that you had had a very spiritual dream. You received the sponsorship of the Wise Old Man "Guru" Archetype.

Having a Dream Guru is a most important thing. Yes, if you worked against yourself hard enough you could still manage to screw up, but if you are the least bit sensitive and discerning then your Spiritual Progress is almost certainly assured.

Also, we have the phenomena of Synchronicity to consider. The Dream Life parallels the Waking Life. As you have found Spiritual Patronage in your dreams, you will also encounter some greater Spiritual Support in your waking life. I certainly did. After my first Wise Old Man "Guru" dreams, I soon found more than a few very good Gurus, some of them famous.

So, yes, keep an eye on your Community for good Spiritual Organizations. Remember that you don't have to sign your life away to just one Organization. I spent my whole life being something of a coordinator between many of Spiritual Organizations... something of a Liaison Offficer of the Overall Spiritual Community.

Well, you seem to be the most spiritual atheist I have ever met.

Well, no, you cannot do anything in a dream. To suggest such a thing would indicate that dreams are entirely from out of the imagination and that none of it is worthy or particularly indicative to anything.

The Gurus of the East are always insisting that one cannot will oneself, unalaterally, into the Presence of a God or Saint. They insist that the Gods and Saints are REAL and that they decide to whom they will appear, and to whom they will share their Patronage and Grace.

But if we believe you, then it is all empty imagination. A persons goes Lucid in a Dream and decides "I will have God Almighty bow before me, and I will have Mary Queen of Heaven surrender all Her Angels over to me so that I may be the new King of the Universe". Then you suppose a Meglomaniacal Dream will transpire, laying out this horrible and blasphemous plot... the only redeeming factor being that none of it would be in the leastwise REAL.

Indeed, that is the crux of the matter. In my view, and the View of the Gurus, Dreams are REAL, that is, the Subjective Reality corresponds to FACTS within the Collective Consciousness. We are influenced by REAL Spiritual Entities who are beyond our Control. This forces us to Work with them, and not simply conjore them up with our imaginations

So, Universal Mind, you seem to be the most spiritual atheist I have ever met.
