Telling People They were in your dream

When I have dreams, and the DC are of people that I knwo in real life, I alwyas tell them that they were in my dream. Even if i dont know them that well, I still tell them. For some reaosn I feel like it owudl be rude to have a memory of them they they dont know exists. I get variied reactions. SOme people are so interested in what they did and find it fasinating, while others odnt care, and then many people immdialy think of something sexual and even after i tlel them what happned they just are freaked otu by it. Do you tell people that they were a DC in yoru dream, ro to you just keep it to yoruslef? And what are there reactions?

Well, usually, DC's in my dreams act the opposite of how they act in real life, or do weird things, like fky.

They usually just get weirded out, or say that I should have beat them up, in my dreams, for being dumb.

I've gotten an apology, in real life, for dream behavior.

      Edit: Mis-read your post....

I don't tell people that they were in my dream, because they take it the wrong way thinking that the dream was something "weird" with them in it.

Usually, people are interested in my exp. I haven't asked that many. I equally have original DC's as well as real-life derived ones. I remember one, where it was my first lucid dream, I was with my neighbor in my backyard. It was daylight, but it was mixed with a vague highlight of neon permeating the atmosphere with an great glow. I told him that I was going to tell him that I lucid dreamed after waking up! He said he didn't believe me in the dream. I did it the next morning..he only showed a brief and loose interest in it.

I don't think people's appearances in your dreams necessarily have an intrinsic meaning.

I often tell people that have appeared in my dream that i have dreamed about them. The usual reaction is 'oh really, what was i doing?'
Some people just aren't interested though...

I usually tell people. I like to see their reactions.

And if they interpret it as something sexual, they should feel honored

I usually tell the person, unless it is a person I know will take it the wrong way.

Er...this probably isn't the place for this but what the hell?

When we were on D of E, camping in a tent, I started talking in my sleep about someone (some girl in High Shcool if you get my drift ) and what I was doing with her. I then rolled onto the guy next to me and tried to put my arms round him. So a few weeks later my mates told her about it and she was totally freaked out by it, but we still have a laugh now and then, as she thinks I'm a pyromaniac physco for some reason (mainly other exagerated stories from the trip).

On a serious note, I don't tell people, unless they're good friends. I never tell people who I think would take it the wrong way. Theres another girl at college who I used to be great mates with, until I decided to ask her out and for one reason or another she bailed. Often I dream about just sitting talking to her, or similar stuff, but I'd never mention that to her incase it worried her, seeing as it's taken the best part of 8 weeks to get a "Hi" again.

Sure, I tell people they were in my dreams. They seem thrilled that I thought of them enough to have a dream about them. It doesn't get weird until I ask them if they remember being in my dream

Every time I tell the cashier at my grocery store I had a dream about her she calls for security.

Sometimes I tell people if they were in my dream, sometimes I don't. For some reason I'm a bit afraid of sharing my subconscious thoughts and that people would take it in a wrong way. However, if I have a nice weird but harmless enough dream about someone, I'll propably share it with them.

Maybe I should try being more open about my dreaming. I guess it doesn't really harm anyone

When people I know appear in a dream it is usually for a reason; for example, they have a message for me. So I will tell them that they were in a dream and what happened in the dream. We usually have a good laugh over it.
