      Almost a LD

One night, I went to sleep and had a dream. In the middle of it, I was being chased by a group of Aztecs, but I stopped and asked out loud, "Is this a dream?" All of a sudden, the dream became increasingly vivid and my senses were enhanced. I then decided it was real and continued. When I woke up I just laid there and thought about how close I came to having a LD.

Has this happened to anyone else? I'm new to these forums and also a newbie to LD's, but I have had a few.

It's not uncommon, don't worry. Dreams are deceptive. A good reality check technique helps with this. The idea is to get in the habit of performing one when you think something may be odd, while being open to the idea you may very well be dreaming, no matter how much it may feel otherwise. Otherwise, it's easy to be fooled and assume you're not dreaming when you really are.

I'd say that's very common. In fact most of my dreams start that way. The dream enhancing capabilities of the brain are amazing, aren't they?
Keep a dream journal, do 15-20 (or more) reality checks a day, and really maintain a clear mind throughout the day.

      Good luck.
