Question Question: I notice my lack of hearing when falling asleep.

Hi, guys. So, I sleep with my air conditioner turned on and I've noticed that sometimes when I go to sleep, I realize that I can no longer hear the noise of the AC and find it strange. Then, I get surprised by that and kind of wake myself up to start hearing it again.

Can someone please tell me what this means?? Is it that the times when I'm not hearing my AC I'm actually mentally aware but physically asleep? If so, can someone tell me how I can keep that state of awareness and not wake myself up physically? I look forward to your responses. Please and thank you.

If you were mentally aware but physically asleep like you said, you wouldn't be able to move, you would be in Sleep Paralysis.

That is exactly what it means! A lot of people actually use air conditioners for their noise to help facilitate their WILD transition into dreams. I have recently noticed this phenomena myself and I think it's super helpful for WILDs. If you want some great advice about your question about keeping that state of awareness and not waking yourself up physically, you could post your experience and ask the question Here. Sageous always seems to give great advice to people that have questions about WILD.

It sounds to me like you're on your way to being a WILD master and I am quite jealous!
