Could it be Creative Dreaming by Patricia Garfield? That's the only one I can think of off the top of my head. |
|
i rememeber a thread (i'm almost certain it was here in GD), in which someone talked about an old book on lucid dreaming that they had found. i don't remember who made the post. i'm pretty sure the book had a simple name (maybe just "Lucid Dreaming") and i'm pretty sure the author was a female. the person who made the thread also included a picture of the book (i believe they scanned it). i tried using the search but couldn't find it, and i don't have time to sit here and go through GD because it's huge and the thread could be anywhere, so if you know what thread i'm talking about and you know the name of the author of the book, or the username of the person who made the thread, or are in whatever way capable of helping me find this book please send me a PM because i'm very interested in getting a copy of it. thankyou. |

Patricia Garfield has written other books as well, so you might want to at least look her up. |

If anything, my general opinion is that you will not find much difference in any other book about lucid dreaming if you've read the more popular publications already. They all follow a similar scheme, unless this book you are mentioning talks more about lucid dreaming and its significance rather than a quick barrage of techniques (which is what LaBerge's book's pattern is more like) |

Yes, it would have had to have been Patricia Garfield. She was one of the earliest advocates of Lucid Dreaming. Indeed, whenever I talk about some of the worst profiteering new age Seminar Gurus who would write anything regardless of it having any inherent truth but only for the promise of seducing a greater public interest, then I often can't help but to wonder whether I am not suggesting a parody portrayal of Patricia Garfield. For years she took up as her Mantra that with Lucid Dreaming one could enjoy endless sex every night of one's life. While those such as Dr. Ann Faraday looked upon Lucid Dreaming as something approaching the Holy Grail or the Philosopher's Stone, we had these less reputable authors pandoring the Phenomena like any xxx-rated sleeze. |

Here's a list of Patricia Garfield's books, incase you can recognize it by its name or cover: |

Well, LaBerge isn't female, heh, but perhaps it's "Exploring the World of Lucid Dreaming"? I just keep this book as a sort of guide and often re-read it so naturally I thought of it. |

Hysteria, could it have been "Lucid Dreaming: The Paradox of Consciousness During Sleep" by Celia Green? |
