Real life intruding on my dream

Okay, this was a weird one. I was dreaming this morning (around 7:00 am) about being on some kind of cruise ship. We started getting tossed around pretty badly, and when I looked out across the ocean, I could see that we were headed for some HUGE waves -- at least 20-30 feet! But that's not the important part... Suddenly, I heard my cell phone ringing (in the dream). I pulled out my phone, and the caller ID said "Andy Cell" -- Andy is a friend of mine, and in the dream he was right there next to me on the ship. I asked him why he was calling me (although he didn't seem to have his phone out). Suddenly I woke up, and realized that my cell phone was actually ringing. I stumbled out of bed and into the other room to get it. I didn't make it in time to answer the call, but when I looked at the caller ID of the call that I had missed, it said "Andy Cell" I had seen Andy just last night, and had no reason to suspect that he would be calling me today, especially at that time of the morning. As it turned out, the reason he called was to ask me if I could look up something for him on the Internet, which he had heard on the radio just this morning. Weird stuff.

Spooky-licious. I found it very amusing when he was next to you in the dream and he didn't have his phone out. When I read on it shocked me! Is that possible!

Heh, better call in the X-Files on that one... Actually, I had a similar experience once. I had left my radio on as I went to sleep and just before waking I remember dreaming about someone being interviewed (but the answers she gave didn't really make sense, so I guess a part of me was still dreaming). Anyway, I woke up to hear an interview going on on the radio, and I recognized the voice and the questions from my "dream interview". I guess you are just more sensitive to external sensory stimulation while awakening. That still doesn't explain your little déjà vu experience but I believe that to be a coincidence.
