lucid dreaming question.

So basically i woke up at 4am today and i wanted to try to go back to sleep and i felt myself jerk when i was on my phone so i was like ok i'm tired i'm gonna try to go back to sleep but as soon as i closed my eyes i heard my cousins and aunt talking but i don't remember what they said and it was like they were talking to me and i was apart of the conversation but i was only watching and i think i tried to put my hand out but no one responded to me but they were looking right at me it was like i was watching a movie and so i dreamed about this person stealing a picture and i just watched her and then i was with 2 other people who were going to steal it back honestly i'm bad at explaining but i think it was lucid dreaming it was like i was controlling all the events but me myself was just there watching it unfold and it kinda scared me so i tried to wake up but then i heard my cousin talking and i was like it's fine he's there if i wanna wake up and then i got sleep paralysis or sleep lock or whatever and seriously couldn't move or wake up and here i am because i tried to close my eyes again and i could feel myself going back to dreaming and i'm good on that so yeah. was it lucid dreaming or what

^^ Basically, if you if you know you are dreaming during the dream, then you are probably lucid. So, given what you described, I'd say you were indeed lucid. What you experienced isn't of course the only way lucid dreams unfold, so next time you're lucid, don't be at all surprised if very different things happen! Welcome to Dreamviews, BTW!
