      PD Ouspensky

In reading a book by Andrew Holecek, 'Dream Yoga' I came across a paragraph in the "Eastern LD induction techniques" section where he is talking about the lotus visualization.

He mentions an man named PD Ouspensky, and him writing about having a technique where he could voluntarily enter a lucid dream from a waking state.
Does anyone know what he is referring to? Ouspensky has so many books I do not even know where to begin.

Hey, it could be the technique used to induce dreams called WILD (Wake-Initiated Lucid Dream). Or do you mean something other than this? When executing the WILD technique, you enter dreams without ever breaking continuity of consciousness.

HERE is a tutorial on how to perform WILD and HERE is a more detailed one; they are both within the forums here.

If you are new to lucid dreaming there are other types of induction techniques that I understand are good for beginners such as MILD (Mneumonic Induction Lucid Dream) and SSILD (Senses Initiated Lucid Dream).

If you already know about classic WILDing and induction methods I apologize.

      Hello Zelcrow,

Yes I am familiar with WILD already, I had my own little method I called 'pseudo WILD' that I cannot seem to replicate again. that's why I am interested in this method particularly. Thank you for the info though, I can look into those as well.

Oh, okay. That's interesting. I've been curious about dream yoga since I've been studying lucid dreaming. I might check out the book you're referred to above. Hopefully another member can help you out with the information you're looking for. And anytime!

"Dream Yoga: Illuminating your life through the Tibetan yogas of dream and sleep" by Andrew Holecek, has given me techniques and info that has made me the most successful ive ever been with lucid dreaming, I definitely recommend it.
Ive had more lucids in the past month than in years of trying on my own

Hey, thank you for the book reference. And that is encouraging that you've had a boost in LDs since you've read the dream yoga book! I hope it continues to help. I think I'm going to order the book you mentioned along with Lucid Dreaming Plain and Simple by Robert Waggoner. I read through Laberge's Exploring the World of Lucid Dreaming a couple times recently and enjoyed it, but I would like to get some other perspectives and additional information.

***edit: I just found and purchased it for less than $4.00 thanks to a coupon I didn't know I had ***
