      Tennitis and Relaxation

I am just wondering, do people on this forum with tinnitis have more trouble relaxing, for, say, a WILD? I would think that they would, but perhaps they have practiced it enough so that they can tune it out, which, in itself, would be a great thing also. Is this the case?

I have this in a bad way, for at least the past 35 years. The 70's with it's loud hair bands didn't help much either.

I've just learned to ignore it. I wasn't thinking anything about it until i read this post, now, I can hear it in the background as I type, eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

Best to just learn to ignore it. If you do not think much about it, it is not so bad. It doesn't affect my ability to WILD that I know of.

Google tinninitis on the wen, there are things you can do to reduce it.

I have slight tinnitus. I can only hear the "eeee's" when it's really quiet. The computer fan is enough to block it out right now. After listing to really loud music it becomes much more noticeable, but still ignorable, and settles down after a bit. I don't think its ever kept me awake. You could probably use it as a way to help WILD--keep focussing on the eeee's and sing along with it in your mind to keep your mind active.

i have probably moderate tinnitis. i don't normally notice it, but that's just because i can usually tune it out pretty well, not because it's very mild. in fact, i hear eeeeeeeee's right now, even though i've got music playing. sometimes it's hard for me to tell if what i'm hearing is tinnitis, though, or electronic equipment, like computer monitors. but i know it's usually at least partly tinnitis, because i still hear it when i'm not around any electronics. but it's never really interefered with my sleep. i haven't had an LD yet, or a successful WILD, so i don't know how it would affect that, but i suspect that Dearly is right, and that you could maybe use it as a point of focus during your WILD.
