More "Why didn't I know I was dreaming??"

Ok, get a load of this one:

I've recently had a drought of LDs. My main hobby in life is draining, which means exploring the underground storm drain tunnels. I just love being underground in secret tunnels I guess...

There's a link for the interested and perplexed: http://www.aberrant.org/~sand/drain/ (I am in no way connected to this site; my own site of drains is down for several weeks or I would post my own).

Anyway, I was walking through a large tunnel, and I saw a door (this happens a lot in dreams, but never in reality). I opened it, hoping to find another large tunnel to explore. It was. I called my friends over saying "Hey, I found a new tunnel!". When they got there, I opened the door again and it was a fucking bowling alley. So here's where it gets really depressing. I figure "well since this is a dream, I'll just close the door and re-open it and maybe there will be a tunnel behind it". It worked, and I got what I wanted. And I never became lucid. Unbelievable.

That was a low-level lucid dream, you realised it, but fell back to normal dream mode after you got what you wanted

it WAS a lucid dream. because you DID know it was a dream, at one point, even though it didn't last long. like CT said, low-level.

Ignorant bliss is an oxymoron; but so is miserable truth.

Yeah what's the deal with those "Shoulda gone lucid' type dreams?

I was pouring cereal in a dream thinking about the complexity of the subconciouss. I had just woken up from a dream IN THE DREAM and was thinking about how you could tell every aspect of a person just by the way in which they go about purchasing, preparing, obtaining, and consuming cereal.

      ... amazing.

      totaly over my head,

Thanks for the heads up guys, I never knew what people were talking about with "low-level lucidity". In the spirit of the 911 hearings, we'll call it "unactionable intelligence".
