      My first LD. I think...

      Yo wat up?

Anyway, I've been reading about lucid dreaming for a lot of time and wrote a dream journal for the past three weeks, but I stopped a week ago.

So yesterady I woke up to see the superbawl (and my Seahawks lose ).
I went to sleep at around 10 pm and woke up at 2 thirty. I watched the game until it almost ended at 4 thirty. I understood that the Steelers won and went to bed. without intending nothing.

So in my dream im at the TV room again watching the end of the game. I somehow remember that I already went to sleep and that I'm dreaming . Suddenly I feel my body shaking and that i cannot move, but it wasn't scary. I want to spin around my self but decided to rub my hands, which felt really heavy. I closed my eyes and said to myself "when I open my eyes I'll be somewhere else". And so I opend my eyes and I was playing tennis agaisnt a purple wall. Then I decided that I wanted to have sex with a girl I dated in my room.

I spinned around my self but nothing happend. I imagined my room like it was filmed in a movie, the camera was going from the roof to the floor and there I was, alone.
      Then I woke up.

The entire dream didn't feel lucid like now when i'm writing and was kinda blury.

      My questions:

      1. Was I lucid dreaming? or dreaming about lucid dreaming?
      2. What was that shaking?

At any time during the dream, did you stop and think... "Hey, this is a dream, cool!"?

That is the key. If you realized it was a dream and your concious mind was even a little bit active, then it was a lucid dream.

Also, Welcome on board! Glad you are with us.
you must be the change you wish to see in the world...

the shaking is caused by 'sleep paralysis'. it is explained fully on this site, though i'm too lazy to find the link right now

basically, it is when your body releases chemicals in your body when you are transitioning into (and in) the dreamstate, to stop your physical body from acting out dream actions. we just usually don't notice it because we aren't conscious when it happens.

most people who learn lucid dreaming experience it on occasion, and some frequently. it is completely harmless, and can even be used to induce lucid dreams..

congrats on your lucid!. keep at it, and they will get more realistic..

moved your physical body, or moved in the dream?

SP can happen while falling asleep, asleep, waking, or any combination of the three.

i have felt my physical body vibrating/shaking in bed, while my dream body was still in a lucid dream...quite wierd. or often i experience SP just upon waking up. or sometimes when i am drifting off to sleep. it is true that many people here use it to induce WILDs, but you can experience it without trying to WILD.

there are different degrees of SP, just like everything else. i am 99.9% sure that is what you experienced.
