      I'm On a Mission....

      Hey fellow Lucid Dreamers..

Well i was reading the site again, stumbled across a reply by Ubik, and came up with my mission...Finding my dream guide/ spiritual guide..

I was reading Ubik's post, and it said something about Dream Guide, and i didn't read any further, i just stopped because something came over me telling me its' time that i look for my dream guide/ spiritual guide....

I joined this site in june 2005, my LD count is 27 and ive had about 8 False Awakenings...I've had fun with my LD's making people vanish, summoning objects, things, and even people...but i think its time to go on a little journey...I may have to fight my way through demons, or evil things, i may encounter DC's that are truly amazing along my way, but its time for me to find my Dream guide/ spiritual guide..but before i do..i have a few questions that i need help with...I would like people to answer who already have found their dream guide/ spiritual guide, or for those who can just plain out answer the questions...

Question 1: is your dream guide/ spiritual guide the same or are there many?

Example: In one lucid dream you summon to see your Spiritual Guide, and its a male...Then the next you summon to see your Spiritual Guide again, and its a female..

Question 2: What steps do i need to take to see my Dream Guide/ Spiritual Guide??

Example: Do i need to stay calm, look for certain things, or just plain out shout "I want to see my guide?"

Question 3: What is it like to experience seeing your Dream Guide/ Spiritual Guide, and how long did it take you to accomplish the task?

Thanks for the input, and im really excited to begin my journey through the mind of Lucid Dreaming, with a focused tasked, unlike before

Well, from all of the posts I've read about dream guides, you have to be careful how much you rely on them. What you may think is a dream guide may just be another DC, and often they will display that at some point in the dream. I've heard that their image can change as well.

I think the biggest thing is to find someone who speaks to you, who appears to know you better than you know yourself and can provide answers that you probably wouldn't come up with yourself. I wouldn't necessarily ask them, "Are you my dream guide?" as it may lead to things such as diversionary conversation or other undesired responses.

I'm not sayint it's not possible to know your dream guide is truly your dream guide, but just make sure it is. And just keep in mind you're more than welcome to ask questions here.

      Re: I'm On a Mission....

Hi there! Going on a quest to find your dream guide is certainly a productive thing to do with your lucid (or indeed non-lucid) dreams.

Question 1: is your dream guide/ spiritual guide the same or are there many?

When I first met my dream guide, I did not identify him straight away as my dream guide. I often dreamed of this generic authoritive figure, but it was only when I started thinking about him that it occured to me this spirit was really the same person in various incarnations. His usual guise is as a middle aged headmaster/wizard, but he's at his most impressive as a black elder dragon (which is the form I think of as his "real" form). He's never female. My arch-nemesis is female. She seems to be the antithesis of my dream guide, my literal worst nightmare. She also tries to teach me, but she does so brutally.

Question 2: What steps do i need to take to see my Dream Guide/ Spiritual Guide??

See above. I'd advise you to consider if you might have already met him/her! Do you have any recurring DCs who seem to act as your teacher?

Otherwise, I'd try just saying to yourself "I will find my dream guide". Set yourself up before bed to go on this journey.

Question 3: What is it like to experience seeing your Dream Guide/ Spiritual Guide, and how long did it take you to accomplish the task?

Um, I'm usually feeling pretty guilty around him, actually. He only shows up when I've done something bad (i.e. quite often). He's the better side of my conscience. His presence has a lot of security about it and a lot of awe as well, especially if he's in dragon mode. He can be a bit rough with me, but he'd never seriously hurt me.

Anyway, I hope I made sense, and good luck on your quest!

Absolutely! My dream guide (along with my worst nightmare) is one of my most regular recurring characters.

I've never tried directly summoning him while lucid, but I'm pretty sure I could if I wanted. I think I'll make that my next lucid task (second to actually getting lucid, naturally!).
