Thread: Is this how the spinning technique works?

Well, I have yet to have a proper lucid dream but last night I remember a dream fading -- i was in some place with blue carpet and I started to look around and instead of any textures it was just solid blue. I thought to myself that's not right I have to spin to bring the details back. Well I remember spinning and texture returning.

Now this was early REM so I didn't write it down and that's all remember. I don't think I went full lucid, though I could have and not remembered it. Is that how spinning in an LD usually works though?

It's my understanding that dream spinning is used to "melt" the location of your dream to another.

I've never done it though.

Well I know it can also be used to 'refresh' the details. I was just wondering if that's how the loss of detail is experienced.

Solid colors , no texture. Then you can rub your hands together, or spin to bring the detail back.

My dream scenes are generally very vivid, but I can attest that that's how rubbing my hands together worked. I was starting to wake up, but when I rubbed my hands together it kept me in the dream, plus everything was more vivid and more real.

I know this thread was months ago
but last night I had a lucid dream and I did the spinning thing, and everytime I did it, only the color on the wall changed
