I think I may have discovered a way to practice meditation and practice for WILDs at the same time, using hypnagogic imagery. In my experience, if I make a conscious effort to watch the HI, I can usually sustain the fleeting images with no problem...but as soon as the images begin to move and form real scenes, I find myself suddenly realizing that I am watching HI, and have to start all over again. This is exactly like what happens when using a breathing technique for meditation. My theory is that it is the same kind of mental training, and that if you can consciously focus on the HI without focusing on the focusing, you can not only easily reach sleep paralysis, but also learn to quiet your mind. Any thoughts? |
