      Other things waking me up

It's strange, I was talking to my mom yesterday, and she said to me something that I didnt think as being true, but when I thought about it, it was true.. She was saying I can sleep through ANY kind of noise, I am a really heavy sleeper... but when a TINY bit of light touches my body I wake up, its really wierd, and Ive been like that all my life. You can seriously slap me in my sleep and I'll stay asleep... But anyways, question: Is there any possible way to manipulate this? Or does anyone know why this happens?

maybe you can feel the change in temperature? -- i don't know what you mean by manipulating it. you mean like a dream sign? like a change in temperature in your dream?

Well, for one I meant would I be able in a dream to control, yeah the temperature and stuff, also would the brightness in the room affect your dreams? lets say you were in a dark place, for example, and someone put a flashlight to your eyes, would it light things up? I dont think it would, but yeah, just wondering... I dont think its the change of temperature, because it goes both ways, if it gets a little darker, I wake up to, and I dunno, just doesnt seem that way..

I was just thinking as i was reading this thread:

Can heavy sleepers have a harder time gaining lucidity, or light sleepers?

Maybe it could have somthing to do with the human's biological clock. I have always awoke with the sun (light) no madder how much sleep I get, daylight savings time, or time of year, I will awake upon the rise of the sun.

That is a good question. I know being a light sleeper is a disadvantage when you are already lucid. Being one myself, I often wake up because of an out side source. Which can be frustrating if your in the midst of a good LD.

Answer for the light disturbing your sleep : sleeping mask. It takes about 3 days to get used to it, but then you are hooked.

As for heavy vs light sleepers:
Each has an advantage. Light sleepers awake more frquently and thus remember more dreams. However it's easier to lose lucidity. (I'm a light sleeper now).

Heavy sleepers have a disadvantage of not recalling much dreams , but they have a tighter grip on their dreams once they are lucid. (I was a very heavy sleeper as a child)

sometimes I love napping in the morning when its light... but on other days it makes me not go to sleep... So I usually just put my head under a pillow and pretend its all not there.

If its the sun it doesn't normally wake me up but if someone turned on a light it would. I don't know how its different but it is.

I have a theory on this. If like Einstein said your 'soul' is made of energy (namely photons) and photons are light when light clashes with light then it repels so you miss out on a dream and it wakes your conscious up.Foe example take a battery with positive and negative ends - put two positive or negative together they wont work. Same with a Magnet as it repels the charge.

Light is energy which clashes with our inner energy photons and cancels out and therefore wakes us up.

This is one theory but given we are pure energy if we used 100% of our brains if we were exposed to light we would be cancelled out so maybe thats flawed. *have I just wasted my time making a flawed theory*

There is a principle I go by when making any hypothesis... "keep it simple, stupid"

Our skin is piezo-electric(I think that is the right word, ergo your skin can sense super small differences in heat and mechanical touch). When light rays hit your skin, it makes, bingo, heat. It is a very noticable and special type of heat because it is radiated only on sections of your body where the light hits your naked skin. This could be an explanation, OR your skin indeed might be able to detect light rays themselves... anyway, those are the simplest explanations
What you are determines what you do.
What you think determines what you are.
What you know determines what you think.
      Knowledge is power.

Last few days I am having problems sleeping during the morning. I wake up at about 7, and try to do a WILD or MILD. The problem is they are making some repairs in my building, and the people get there like at 8 or 8:30. They make so much f***ing noice that I just can't sleep or relax. I hope they are done soon...
      If I hadn't made me
I'd be more inclined to bow
Powers that be would have swallowed me up
But that's more than I can allow...
