Dream Guide appearance

I know the DG doesn't have to be visual and it could just be a voice you hear, but does its appearance change in anybody's dream? In my last dream which was nonlucid, I appeared in a volcanic area and shouted "WHERE ARE YOU DREAM GUIDE?" I saw someone in the distance and it was actually one of the human soldiers from the video game Halo 2 but it was a blue color and I identified it as a character from an online show made from a multiplayer mode of the game (his name is Caboose). I woke up after identifying it, but I doubt my DG is caboose. So my main point of this topic is to ask the people who know their dream guides or people who just have knowledge about them if their appearance stays the same for you?

if it was nonlucid then why wre you asking for the DG to appear? It was probably lucid, but you just can't remember you being lucid. Sometaimes that happens to me... it sucks; until you remember you were lucid.

I had said to myself before I went to sleep that my goal tonight would be to find my DG. I know it wasn't lucid because in this dream b/c this was the end of the dream. In the earlier part of this dream, I did other stuff I know I wouldn't be able to do lucid yet. The fact that I focused on looking for my dream guide before I went to bed could've triggered it in the dream.
