      Training Your Subconcious....

      Hey all..

I was thinknig about how you can better your Subconcious mind and remembering things...and i was wondering if, during waking life...you tried to remember as far back as you could to different times of your life--and try to remember every detail about whatever you were thinking about, and maybe write it down..if meditating no your concious mind, could help you remember more things in your subconcious mind---is this making any sense--like trying to make your subconcious stronger in a way?

i hope this makes sense...feedback is welcome!

      thanks

      hey spirit,

Not quite sure the subconcious is something you can improve or practice. You could practice your ability to reach it while awake, though (like through meditation).

I think the subcoucious is just like this big jar that collects all this info that your waking mind can't process. Whether this jar can be modified or improved through somekind of exercise, I'm not sure - I think it's just there. But you can practice taking the lid off of it whenever you want to reach in and have a cookie

      why not

Most skills that we learn pass from conscious deliberation to subconscious control.

For example riding a bike or driving a car.

Mastery may involve reaching a level where skill is fully subconscious.

In Zen they talk about beginners mind.

First you don't think about how to do something you just do it. Then you consciously study techniques and practices to improve. Then you no longer have to think about it.

I hope to master MILD so that it becomes automatic for me.

There are a variety of techniques to improve memory. ETWOLD has some exercises on prospective memory.
