dream journal=must must must must (must must)
reality checks, reality checks, reality checks.
WBTB plus MILD is easy and generally effective too.

maybe try that out for a week or two? see what happens. they have explanations of all those in the tutorials, but basically write down your dreams when you wake up. set an alarm clock for about 4.5-5 hours after you fall asleep, and write down your dreams then. during the day, test your reality (i.e., plug your nose and try to breathe through it, try to stick your finger through your palm, continually ask, "Am I dreaming?"). Then, when you wake up after 4.5-5 hours of sleep, after writing down your dreams, lay back down and visualize yourself back in your dream that you just had, but this time visualize yourself realizing you're dreaming and becoming lucid.

      thats it in a nutshell.

      Firstly, welcome to the forum.

Secondly, I'm sorry to have to tell you that you're not going to get away with taking the easy way out! Different techniques work in different ways for different people. Someone could tell you that WILD paired with WBTB works best for them, but how's that going to help you? You should try each of the techniques yourself and see what works best for you.

Don't get discouraged that the tutorials are long-winded. They're like that for a reason. If LDing was so simple, this forum wouldn't exist. Yes, it's easier for some than others, but, again, everyone is different. I strongly recommend reading through all the tutorials, and reading Exploring the World of Lucid Dreaming (commonly called EWOLD) by Stephen LaBerge.

Also, an important piece of advice to start with is to start a dream journal. This is an integral tool for LDing (if you're not a natural).

And if you really want to know... I do DILDs and WBTBs - that's it.

      Good luck!

ok man, i got the best, guaranteed short-cut ever. its easier than going through the drive-through at mcdonalds and buying a cheeseburger.

      1. YOLD-really mean it though.

      2. dream journal 3 nights in a row....really align the filaments (i can't stress that enough. it may make or break your attempts at lucid dreaming.)

      3. calibrate the vibrations as SOON as they occur on the third night...and bingo bango...you'll be able to lucid dream every night if you want.

all the rest of the stuff on this site is bascially filler...

      what i do is...

'backtracking' helps me - "how did i end up here?"

i don't use a journal - i don't have time, but i have a pretty good sense of what my dreams are like - if you don't - just be aware and think about the type of dreams you have to get you familiar with them if you don't have time for writing them down

if you do do Reality Checks - don't make them become passive 'yes' and no's - become aware of your awareness - most people lose lucidity this way - also, ask your self, tell your self: i know that i am not dreaming right now, but if i were what could/would i do? (then think of at least 3-6 things - jump into that mirror, walk through that hallway that i've never been down or allowed, fly, turn your hand into jelly) - this will make it easier to not 'drift' when you become lucid in a dream, you will most likely stay lucid
