Yes if I induce that dream myself while still conscious and not falling asleep. |

The last two nights in a row I have become lucid multiple times during the first REM stages of the night. For me that's about 20 minutes after going to sleep. However I just can't seem to hold on to it, as soon as I realize I am lucid the dream just fades away, it's like i'm trying to hold on to something made of smoke. |

What do you mean when you say 'induce that dream myself' , I find that interesting. Because when I do have an early LD I am really trying to have one. I psych myself up and try to incubate one. Are you able to have a normal LD early in REM or are they all short? |
|
I've had a few LDs shortly after going to sleep in the evening. They happened spontaneously, don't know why. I usually just go to bed and don't expect to have them before morning. So, they just happened. They were very short, maybe more of a HI, except one I had recently - it sure was a real LD, within half an hour I fell asleep. |

Huh??? My MSG is not posted..? grrr... |

This is all very interesting. Since I believe scientifically the earlier the REM stage the shorter. I have also had experiences that border somewhere between HI and LD. For example, the other night I was in bed and there was a girl in bed with me and she was laying with her legs spread towards my face |

Maybe you should also note one thing...concerning me at least. Actually when I have dreams early in the night it is always at "realtime" but it lasts for "quite a long time". Or at least as it seems. |
