Could lucid dreaming ever become compulsive or obsessive? What happens if it becomes something that I don't want to do anymore? I know that many people with some type of special ability often wish that the ability would go away. Would it be easy for me to just stop and go back to normal dreams, or is it something that I would be stuck with for the rest of my life? |

Recent Dream journal note : I was swallowed by some kind of sea-snake thing
Steven LaBerge covers this subject in his book 'Exploring the world of lucid dreaming' He stated that when he first became successful at LD's he had one every night, he then had the same concern that you have mentioned. However, what he discovered that "as soon as I entertained this worrisome line of thinking, I stoped having lucid dreams. Lucid dreaming takes effort, they only occur rarely unless you go to sleep with deliberate and definate intention to become concious, or lucid, in your dreams" |
