Thread: All work and no lucid dreams

Hello gameover.

I’m currently studying and have a long way to drive in the mornings (about an hour and a half) I tend to be in bed by ten thirty-eleven, if not, well that’s my problem. I haven’t found any change in my Lucids whatsoever, maybe even a little more than normal. I guess it’s all to do with the person.

Hey, gameover - don't get discouraged! And don't cut back your hours at work, either. I work full time 40-45 hrs per week and am still able to find time for LDing and keeping my dream journal.

Plus, I doubt reducing your hours at work would help anyway - I bet it has more to do with techniques. What induction techniques have you already tried? Do you keep a dream journal? Do you have any regular dreamsigns? Do you do reality checks?

Maybe it's time to give yourself a break. Sometimes working too hard at something can be counterproductive. Take a break from LD for a couple of days to a week, and see if you have any notable experiences.

And don't get discouraged! A little negative thinking goes a LONG way. Just keep trying and I'm sure you'll get there. Feel free to PM me or another Dream Guide if you have any questions!

Im not even considering cutting back work. And a week break woudln't really be a change of routine. Ive been on a several month break already. When I worked 40-45 hrs a week I didnt have this problem. It perfectly coincides with the jump to 50 hrs 6 days. Only one day off a week now. My answer has nothing at all to do with techniques. I stopped "trying" a long time ago. Ive been a regular lucid dreamer for the last two years. When I first joined the forum 2 years ago I was trying. But Ive been on autopilot quite awhile now and everythings been consistent without having to do any induction techniques at all. I know I can do a WBTB with an almost perfect success rate (I can count on my fingers the times it hasnt worked), but thats the whole point. I don't have time to do that anymore. And I habitually do RC's everyday. I guess there's just a lot going on in my life right now...not in a bad way. I dont keep a dream journal but I never did. I always remember my dreams very well. I only record them on some occasions.

Anyways, thanks for the input. Really I was just curious if anyone else had the same issue.
