Have you ever died in a dream? What was it like?

The only "death" I've ever expireinced was those falling off a cliff dreams that everyone has, though even then I've woken up before hitting bottom. I've also heard rumors that if you die in a dream and don't wake up, you die in real life. Any crediblility to this as well?
