False dream memories

Well you ever have a dream where you remember like a past dream but your don't remember any of the stuff happening before then? Well tonight I had a dream like that. I was talking to this person and I remebered something from the past and I pull out a video tape of it. I remeber thinking that I remebered what happened in the tape, but I am pretty sure I never had a memory of that before that point. Then I was talking to another person and I remebered something else from the past and the dream goes into like flashback mode and I see the stuff happening again. And just like before I think "Oh I remeber that now." I remeber having dreams with the same people as that dream before, and we did similar things before. I think they are both fake memories though. I don't think I could totally forget a dream and then remeber it good enough to play a video of it in my mind heh.

Yea, that experience is usually tied in with confusing reality with dreams. A false pre-cognitive dream if you will. I personally think it's directly tied in with lucidity. Because a more frequent appearance of previous occurances can be interprated as a dream sign.

I often have something similar. Still I'm not sure if it's true or not... Tonight I saw a helicopter in a dream. It was very small one. Yet I knew it was mine and it felt like I had it for 10 years... It was an assault helicopter, and dream continued as a wild air battle...

I have dreams that mirror other dreams VERY frequently. In my dream journal, I call them "continuation dreams" because they will often have the same people in them, and have the same overall emotion or activity, but instead of it being a recurring dream, we will do something different, often continuing what we did in the dream before.
