      MisterBubble's Road to Lucidity

      Hey,

I have been trying everything for the past month, but no LD.. My dream recall is better than ever but even though I know I am dreaming I don't become "lucid".. Like, I say, "oh a flying elephant.. im dreaming.." and then continue on with the dream. It doesn't hit me that maybe I should try controlling the dream.

What induction method should I use? Which would you say is most effective?

      Thanks.

The exact same thing happens to me, but you're getting closer. I've been trying for over 6 months now, and I'm at about the same stage that you're in. Just try to be a little more observant, and it should work.

      Hey there;
I know it's frustrating, but while it's great you've been consistant for a month, it's really not an incredibly long time to have been practicing LDing in the grand scheme of things. As I'm sure you've figured out, it takes a lot of time and patience, but it will happen eventually, so don't rush it. It will be all the more rewarding when it does happen It sounds as though you're getting closer, though. As for induction methods, VILD and MILD seem to work for me the best, but remember that everyone is different and you should take the time to see which method works best for you personally.
Again, just keep practicing... you'll get there.
      Hope this helped a little

I agree with the others, i found that in the beginning, to have a lucid dream requires a small level of obsession, as in a life as hectic as most people lead, unless you really want to have an LD, and do all it takes to have one, you won't gain that extra bit of consciousness that is required to tip you into full lucidness, but don't worry, by the sounds of it you're at the very brink of being to LD on demand! i also agree that MILD is an almost sure fire method for inducing LD, however, effort and persistance is needed

I had a false awakening this morning! I remember getting up at 6:01AM and then going back to sleep, trying to relax, focusing on my breathing, and then I was in my bed and it was all dark and stuff.. I looked at the clock and it was 5:28AM. I closed my dream eyes and woke up at 6:28AM.

      Wooooooo!

That's why you have to RC everytime you wake up. Last night I had my 4th lucid dream, and the first one where I was able to bring my concious into it (the other ones I was just like "I'm dreaming..." and I just wandered off for the rest of ludicity) and during it I had 2 false awakenings. I RC'd both times, I remained lucid... which is pretty amazing for me considering the first 2 LD's I had I lost ludicity fast as hell and the last one wasn't long at all.

The 2 most important times to RC:
      -While waking up
-While writing in your dream journal

Thanks, as the day went on, I thought to myself that I could have become lucid by doing a reality check if I had the habit of doing it in the morning.

I'll keep trying. Tonight I'm going to try to FILD.

I slept at 2:00AM this morning with the intention of waking up at 7:00AM and then attempting a FILD. Well, I wasn't sleepy at all so I tried relaxing my self, instead the numbing of a WILD came on.

I got to the flashing lights when my mother decides to open the door for no f-ing reason at all. So I'm jolted awake, but think nothing of it and try again.

The 2nd time I get up to HI and my air conditioner suddenly stopped being a part of my hearing. And then, of course, my dear mother decides to CLOSE the door for no reason at all.

So... I get up to the furthest in my WILDs, I was actually controlling the HI, at first it was black and white and then it got colored when I yelled "LUCIDITY! INCREASE!", so I was walking around and basically it was a almost-lucid dream except I could see the edges of the blackness of my eyelids.

      Good job, mom.
