      REM cycles and Dream Recall

Okay, so I've recently overcome a dry spell on dream recall. I noticed one thing....when I get around 9 hours of sleep, I have a tendency to recall my dreams better. However If I sleep for 6 or 7.5 hours, my recall sucks...why in the holy hell is that?

I have noticed the same thing about myself, and while I don't know exactly why this happens, I would guess that it is due to the fact that when you sleep, it helps organize you memories, so if you don't sleep enough, your memory is not as good, while if you sleep a good 9 hours, your recall is better as your brain has fully rested, and is completely done with it's memory organization thingy that it does when you sleep.
