      Details

In my dreams, I can't really see a lot of detail in people. Especially their facial characteristics. I know their body type and height, but that's about it. The environment, however, is incredibly detailed. The colors, specifically, are very vibrant and are the things I remember most viviedly, which I suppose is common.

So, I was wondering what detail sticks out most in your dreams. Do you recall any other senses, such as smelling or hearing, as strongly as visual?
      One day it'll take,
      And they'll start to make,
      Shirts that fit right.

Like you, I usually recall my surroundings the best. I'm not too good at recalling color or dream characters (unless I'm lucid, which I learned last night ), but I'm trying to work on that. Keeping a dream journal has worked wonders on what I recall.

      Hello & welcome Today...Yesterday!

Many times what I focus on (if I am lucid ) becomes what my senses depict as being most acute.

My dreams are mostly visual, sometimes i recall texture, temperature and sound quite vividly, but those senses are secondary to sight. That's why I dont like dark rooms and places and try to get outside as soon as possible. Not sure about the sense of smell and taste, there arent that many dreams where I get to taste or smell something.

About faces - yes, they are incredibly hard to recall. Most of the time I just know what dream characters are in front of me instead of identifying them by their faces.

The visual aspect of my dreams is the coolest one - looking at things while being lucid has some "magical" feeling to it. Just looking around, looking at the ground or some other detail is very entertaining, particularly because I know that this is not the real life I'm looking at..

Like Ev, I just "know" who people ar in dreams with out really identifying them. As far as taste, I've only tasted one thing in a WBTB dream... and it was only ok. It was a giant rasberry filled chocolate bar. My dreams are still pretty touch and go.

My ability to feel temperature in dreams is pretty much non-existant though my other senses work perfectly.
      I can because I know I can.

As all of you have pointed out a particular area that is vague.
If this is a lucid dream focus your attention on the grey areas. You will most likely see this in greater detail.

I usually have average details in my dreams but i just dont pay attention to them, for example:
i was in a library kind of supermarket, and i browsed through the books, and all of them had uniqe names, nice covers. and the same type of books stood nicely next to eachother with the exact same size and etc. this was not a LD.
in my LD's i have amazing detail! Although when you LD you often just feel like you're more connected to everything so that might be the reason for the high perception of details.
