Last night, I had the experience of a lifetime!
The background info, first, however: I work at a daycare for 5-10 year olds, and I work with a girl named Amy; she's blind. She has been an immense inspiration to me in these past few weeks of summer camp-- most of the kids (and sometimes employees) can't even tell she's blind! To make a long story short, she just graduated from Sonoma State University with a double major in psychology and math. I'm interested in psychology as well, so I've been talking to her about that, and she's been telling me about Sonoma State. The school looks promising and I'm definitely going to apply.
The dream:
I find myself sitting in the top row of a basketball stadium at Sonoma State University watching a basketball game with Amy and a few other co-workers sitting by my side. We talk for a few minutes, but then Amy asks us all if we've ever sang this chanting, sort of cheer song that Sonoma State holds as a tradition. I don't remember the song exactly, but my jaw drops when I hear her mention it. The song has deep meaning to me, and so when we start singing it, chills trickle down my spine and tears wet my eyes. It feels great-- everybody singing the same song. I remember thinking that for each person singing this song, there's a different meaning and influence. Absolutely beautiful! I remember feeling as if I were just floating above my seat-- no worries, no pains, nothing but euphoria and unity!
Maybe I'm different, but I extremely enjoy inducing chills down my spine from innovative music, or insightful conversation. Those moments are the moments I live for. And, so, having this dream was a real breakthrough for me because I had never had the same experience in a dream. Now I have.
Have a nice day,
Matt
